The day dragged on and I continued to sleep every now and then. Six hours or so later it appeared the sun had gone and was replaced with darkness. We threw our guns over our shoulder and hiked back to the six-wheeler, and from there we headed to the cabin. We arrived quickly and went straight to bed. Another five hours later we’re up and about getting ready for the second and final attempt at getting a moose. I knew if we hadn’t shot something that morning, we were going home with nothing. We waited and waited but nothing happened. Eventually we gave up on that spot and figured we’d find someplace new. While driving down the trail we spotted a lynx the size of a mountain lion. That was the only thing we saw those two days. Instead of going someplace different, we decided to go home. Considering I had school the next morning, that was the best plan. Though we didn’t get anything that weekend, I still have high hopes on shooting moose, or even a caribou real soon!
