Some individuals may admit hockey is hard. It is rough in the beginning, but when it gets down to actually playing in a game, it’s worth it. When playing in a real game, excitement overwhelms me when I know there are risks to take.
Learning how to play hockey is exciting, but painful. Although someone who hasn’t learned how to ice-skate before would make a lot of mistakes, experienced competitors sometimes make similar mistakes as well, just not as many. When I first started playing hockey, I made a lot of errors; I still do. Like most people, I didn’t know how to do anything but skate forward. Although with the hard practices I’ve been to, I’ll soon be able to do better as a proficient player.
Wayne Gretzky once said “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” I took the shot to become a hockey player and am obtaining greater skills in this sport. I’ve learned to shoot, skate better, accelerate, and so much more. I have found a love in hockey.
